Welcome to Fleet Communications

Hello everyone, and welcome to the new blog.

First to introduce myself to those of you who don't know me. My name is Eriks, and I have been writting either game reports or more feature type articles regarding the Milwaukee Admirals for going on six years now. I was once very actice as a writer, but personal life got in the way after the death of my father in 2003. After a couple of halting attempts to get back into the swing of things, I was never really able to match my dedication to any medium or website that I was working for. With the demise of Just Hockey, the magazine that gave me my first published bylines, I lost my rudder to some degree. Yes, I could have gone to the website that spawned from it, but the timing of things was bad due to some life issues dealing with my mother's dementia.

So I decided that Blogging might be the way to pass on the information I gather each and ever game night as one of the only two reporters present most evenings. Now I work on my own deadline, and the boss here is really good at knowing when I'm slacking so he keeps my nose to the grindstone.

I hope you make Fleet Communications a regular stop on your hockey info circuit.

Gamache Returns for Conditioning Assignment

Fan favorite and All-Star winger Simon Gamache returned to the Milwaukee Admirals on a reconditioning assignment from the parent Nashville Predators. Simon had not seen action in the AHL since the finish of last season after having started out the season in the NHL. While he started out a little slow, the fiery foward started to get his legs moving and created a number of chances, finishing with a single point on an assist.
